Not that I have lesser faith on the capabilities of newly appointed COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa , what concerns me more is the fact that our Political Elite instead of appointing someone who can prove to be a better for the country rather picks or choose men for the offices who they think will not be any threat for them.

I have great regards and I am fond of many of initiatives that General Raheel Shareef took during his tenure, despite many people criticizing him for some political reasons relevant or irrelevant, I won’t get into the details of those accounts here, as their point of view can be personal or political in nature and I do not want to limit my thoughts to one point or the fact only, killing scope of my take on Gen Raheel Shareef.
Earlier during the appointment of General Pervez Musharraf, General Raheel Shareef as Army Chief and now of General Qamar Javed Bajwa, basic criteria or assessment matrix was to see who is lesser harmless to the political interests of the ruling party. All these three chiefs appointed by Nawaz Sharif, only point that he and his advisers emphasized more on was new Chief has to be lenient to them, that is a different thing that time proved them to be otherwise and for all the right reasons however, General Qamar Javed Bajwa is still untested and I am quite sure of the fact that he will also without coming any political, local or international influence will continue serving Pakistan and it’s interests, geo-politically and internally both.

Pakistan Army is probably the only institution on which we can trust fully putting our faith to it that it brings forward people on merit, knowing the internal assessment criteria that exist in the organization and it lack tendency of introducing nepotism unlike Civil Institutions.
Also sometimes it’s hard to pick and choose the best men as it’s the institution formed on the gentlemen with unique traits or in other words pros and cons, rest is assured every Army Officer works in better interest of Pakistan. It is hard to say who served better than who, as every person who gets onto the seat brings along his own understanding about certain matters based on his experience working with this prestigious organization.
I believe and hope that in the years to come Pakistan Army will add on the procedure of bringing forward the officers purely on the basis of seniority with no so called ineffective supreme commander in chief of the armed forces or the people with their vested interests handpicking any of the officer for their personal and political interests overlooking the services of the other officers. This can politicize the only credible institution we have, when Supreme Court can bring forward the man with seniority to the position why can’t it be done in the Armed Forces of Pakistan?

Today, I am forced to think and what I’m thinking is that how we let go some of the super finest officers like Gen (r) Haroon Aslam, Gen (r) Tariq Khan and now soon to be Gen (r) Ishfaq Nadeem just because their stance on non state actors and their domestic facilitators, to whom rulers thought these officers could become a threat for their vested interests, not tolerating their corrupt practices, their incline towards enemies of Pakistan and will force them to ensure transparency and good governance which could have forced the ruling elite to follow their footsteps hence all these brilliant officers were superseded in their respective tenures. To set the record straight this adventurism was started by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and still its being practiced in Pakistan.
Qamar-Bajwa.jpgGeneral Qamar Javed Bajwa is a newly appointed Army Chief of my beloved Army and I have great respect and honor for him and I extend my full support as a concern and responsible citizen for my Sippah Salaar also I wish General Raheel Shareef a long healthy and prosperous life ahead. People who are criticizing him shall realize there is a capacity to which a person can be stretched and let to perform.
In countries like Pakistan, where people are more critiques and lesser cooperative it is not any individual’s failure to not to perform to it’s full capacity, it is our collective failure if we put the whole burden on an individual/group and expecting him to clear all the mess that we all have created.

Before I sign off, I think it’s a great a hypocrisy at the such people’s end who had been voting the failures in past and recent days and expected General Raheel Shareef to clean their and their electable’s dirt. In my humble view, General Raheel Shareef’s job was to secure Pakistan from internal and external threats to which he neutralized mainly with the initiation of Operation Zarb e Azb, Operation Awaran, Karachi Operation and Operation Khyber One. In my humble view, political mess, disqualification of the candidates, legal action and accountability has to be ensured by Civil Institutions like Supreme Court of Pakistan, National Accountability Bureau, Election Commission of Pakistan, National Assembly, Federal Investigation Agency, Intelligence Bureau and Federal/Provincial Police and not duty of General Raheel Shareef or of the Armed Forces of Pakistan.

It was the conduct of General Raheel Shareef against the terrorists which let Pakistanis associate all their hopes with him in no time. We need to analyze his tenure realistically as we were unfair in linking hopes with him in many of the areas which didn’t even fell in his domain and mandate. Before you criticize General Raheel Shareef be honest and revisit his tenure as Army Chief, you will see many great successes and accomplishments where he went out of the way and completed or initiated them including CPEC, Shanghai Cooperation, our formal entry into Nuclear Services Group and many more.

I will surely miss General Raheel Shareef and I pray to Allah that this honorable institution of Pakistan Army keep giving us gallant and valor officers like him, who not only earned respect from Pakistan but from the International Community as well.

Good Bye General Raheel Shareef, we will surely miss you and hope that newly appointed Army Chief will not let us miss you that much.

Generals

By: Amaan Tareen

By now every sensible Pakistani has sensed that Democratic Forces in Pakistan have failed to address their basic living rights during their respective tenures also in last 7 years no such project was initiated that could benefit the poor and or the public in general. Today, Pakistan is again standing at a point where it was in 1999 where people are looking at Pakistan Army to come into power and rescue the Country of 180 Million that is sinking like a boat because of Corruption, Nepotism, Bad Governance, Political Instability and rapidly increasing Internal and External Threats to Pakistan’s existence.

Major Cities of Pakistan particularly Peshawar, Quetta and Karachi are at the disposal of terrorists who have firm networks established with the help of Non-state Actors who have increased their influence inside Pakistan more than before in these last 7 years.

Terrorism

Militant Organizations like TTP, BLA, Sect base Militant Organizations have strengthened themselves by recruiting brainwashed young lads, using them against Pakistan Armed Forces. Formation of IS on the borders of Iraq and Syria, and Al-Qaeda South Asia based on Militants of different ethnicity are surely the next biggest threat for World Peace particularly Pakistan.

Groups like TTP, BLA and BLF that are supported by RAW, MOSSAD, CIA and NDS with their base camps mostly funded by RAW via it’s consulates being setup inside Afghanistan-Pakistan border.

PTI was the final hope for Pakistanis, that turned out to be a big disappointed because of his no clear policies on Terrorism, Economy, Health, Education and Governance and rather focusing on KPK kept itself on the roads protesting against the systematically Rigged Elections held after PPP Government completed its 5 years tenure and setup a care taker government.

Imran Khan, who aimed to uproot the status quo from Pakistan’s Political Arena seemed helpless at the hands of Electable in PTI, who once were the part of the same status quo parties against whom Mr. Khan was fighting.

D I Khan Jail Break, APS School Attack are the main two incidents that took place under his party’s ruled province (KPK) that raised eye brows of his voters.

Under such circumstances considering Country’s Law & Order Situation, Political Instability and Increasing Influence of Takfiri Militant Organizations like IS in its surroundings, another possible war between India and Pakistan, we are left with no other option but to have Military take over the Control of Country and assign prominent Technocrats a role within certain period of time, also to setup an Independent Election Commission, do country-wide crack down on banned outfits and sectarian parties hence clearing the country from all possible threats within Pakistan and hold elections whenever they feel is the right time.

If we reflect this back to Military Coup in 1999 and all the measures taken by General (r) Pervez Musharraf, we may realize that all those decisions and policies introduced by General Musharraf and his technocrats were heading in right direction.

Strengthening Pakistan Economically was the main agenda set by Musharraf and his team, besides that he initiated projects like Bhasha Dam, Pakistan’s Nuclear Program, Defense Deals with France, Russia, China and America, Pakistan’s Foreign Policy was stronger than ever with its citizens being valued abroad, becoming a part of Economic Corridor having Iran, China, Russia and Pakistan as its main beneficiaries, launching 16706-mush-1364625706-852-640x480Gwadar Port, increasing Pakistan’s Export to European, African and Australian Markets, initiating Iran-Pakistan Gas Pipeline Project that could have benefited Pakistan in long run and address the on-going Power and Economical Problems of Pakistan.

Besides all above mentioned achievements of Musharraf Regime, life of an ordinary Pakistan was much easier than it is now, also law and order situation was stable, non-state actors and their networks were being shut in the country. People seemed lost comparing Musharraf’s Rule with the promises of Democrats that never got fulfilled.

Eventually, General Raheel Sharif is left with only two options, one to setup a Technocratic Government led by General (r) Pervez Musharraf, assigning him with the best team of technocrats with proved track record and second option is to remove this government and take over the state affairs and hand over them to Pakistan Military.

To sum up, Pakistani Nation is in standing in the same point like it was in 1999 with no other option than Electing General Musharraf with the Team of Young, Energetic and Dynamic Technocrats or to ask Army to take over and impose Martial Law which surely is not a permanent solution to the problems but would at least save the existence of Pakistan that is far more important than the system (democracy) that has always failed to resolve people’s issues.

Now Pakistanis have to decide, either they want to have the system that never solves their issues or they want to have dedicated team that is not a part of the system but can solve their many issues. Whoever be in power will surely have great challenges ahead of him and will need minimum 5 years in bringing things back to normal and surely 10 years to bring back Pakistan on the path where there will be Peace, Prosperity, Better Governance and Credibility in International Community.

We all need to gather under the flag of Pakistan not any other flag that stops us from becoming a Nation - AT

Nations that allow their Integrity & Dignity for Sale threatened its own survival. Pakistani nationover the past few decades had been a victim of poor decision making by its top notch Leadership, where they not only compromised on the National Security but also harmed the Nationality and pride of a common Pakistani.
Though, I can share so many examples that can support my argument up here but I would liketo choose the latest incident that took place in Lahore on 27th January, 2011 in the busy marketof Lahore, where an American National, Raymond Davis (alleged to be a C.I.A Contractorin Pakistan) brutally murdered two Pakistani Citizens and tried to escape. Local populationmanaged to get him arrested and put him behind bars.

He was tried for over 1.5 month and during all that various  Political Parties claimed that they will make certain that the  suspect will be held accountable for the crime he  committed. Pakistani Politicians, because of their past  record were not trusted by the general public. This  Raymond Davis issue have become an immediate sensation  in the mainstream media across the World. Wherein, every  TV Anchor criticise the fate of this U.S citizen Raymond Davis exposing more of his activities and background information’s and the reasons of his prolonged stay in Pakistan.

Pakistani decision makes who decided the fate of the nation without taking their consent

Conflicting statements among Public officials belonging to the same political parties alsoexacerbated the anger of the people all over the country when Mr.Shahbaz Sharif – CM Punjab who belongs to the ruling party in Punjab PML-N with 60% weight age in the provincialassembly issued a firm statement;

We will not release Raymond Davis at any cost by selling our integrity ” – Shahbaz Sharif

During his pronouncement regarding Davis case was not yet settled, and on 16th March 2011, Judge Muhammad Yousaf Aujla and Judicial Magistrate Chaudhry Aneeq Anwar from Lahore Court announced the indictment of Raymond Davis that he will be released, a murderer of two citizen who was accused for killing two Pakistanis but also for attempting terrorism act in Pakistan, involved in suspicious activities in the country, not holding Diplomatic Immunity and several other charges.

This unilateral decision by local court of Lahore has raised many questions not only in the minds of Pakistani Nation but also to various human rights activist and organizations that operates in Pakistan. 15 minutes after Raymond Davis was released by Punjab’s Law Minister Rana SanaUllah belonging to the same party defended the decision by calling it a court’s decision, (opposite to people’s expectations). This is not the first time that such incidents of political maeuverings transpired under the governance of PML-N.

Mir Aimal Kansi who was handed over to U.S Authorities by Nawaz Sharif's Government

Nearly 14 years ago when Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif then had “pleased” the Clinton administration by allowing the extradition of Mir Aimal Kansi, one of FBI’s 10 Most Wanted Fugitives of that time, and also assisted the US Intelligence and FBI by providing them details of his whereabouts, under the weight of the extradition treaty, Mir Aimal Kansi was tried in the US court on the grounds of Terrorism . Hewas found guilty and was executed by lethal injection on November 12, 2002.

Pakistani Nation is not surprised with PML-N’s inclination towards the United States at suchtime. On the contrary, failure of Pakistan Military & ISI cannot be ignored. Some sources confirmed that PPP Government, PML-N along with Pakistan’s Military, ISI were fully on board with this idea of letting Raymond Davis go.

COAS - General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kiyani & DG ISI - General Ahmed Shuja Pasha

People of Pakistan were outrage that Pakistani Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kiyani and DG ISI General Shuja Pasha did not took a viable stand against such actions when it had become a matter of national security and could have sparked a new round of terrorism and threat to the sovereignty of the country. Not only this Pakistan’s So-Called Independent Judiciary led by its Chief Justice Chaudhry Iftikhar Ahmad failed to let justice takes its course by releasing him without taking Suo Moto action against the unfair trial of Raymond Davis.

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari & Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani are not spared at this moment as it was already expected that they too will not handle the case as per the expectations set from them by the millions of Pakistanis. This was clearly indicated when Pakistan’s Ex-Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi resigned from his position calling his Party bilateraland interested in releasing Raymond Davis.

U.S Vice President Barkley & Pakistan's First Prime Minister Nawab Liaquat Ali Khan - 1950

The present leadership of Pakistan and their rotten moral value, my mind forces me to go back in May-June, 1950 when Pakistan’s First Prime Minister visited the United States of America on his official visit and there He met with leaders of US Trade and Industry, who promised all possible military and economic assistance in case Pakistan recognized Israel. The American Industrialists also underlined the importance of such a package for the new state of Pakistan. Liaquat Ali Khan in his known gentle tone replied:

Gentlemen! Our soul is not for sale.

Another example was set by Pakistan’s First Military Ruler Field Marshall Ayub Khan. According to Syed Sharif Uddin Pirzada, French President de Gaulle had personally told Ayub Khan in 1967 that France was ready to provide `full’ nuclear assistance to Pakistan. In return hesimply asked that France be allowed to mine for uranium in the northwest and share it equally with Pakistan. `Our “friends” may not like it,’ M M Ahmad told Ayub, and in any case, what dowe need this expensive technology for.’ Words to that effect. But that is how Pakistan missed the opportunity of becoming a nuclear power at least two decades earlier than it did – and minus allthe eternal blackmail and intimidation.

Two Field Marshals: Sir Ayub Khan with Sir Claude Auchinleck

Now Raymond Davis has gone back to his homeland but still, there are lot, more people likehim that are operating in Pakistan and are exporting terrorism from Afghanistan to Pakistan. I sincerely hope that this negligence by the Pakistani Authorities will prove to be the last, also I expect the nation to respond to this incident the way it should be, so that Pakistani Authorities will never again think to compromise our National Sovereignty and play the role for what they were elected for , or else their fate will be decided by the Pakistani Population of 18 Crore .

Oue Leaders will have to realize that they have to

Keep the National Interest First “, as it was , is and will going to be ”  Pakistan First ” – Pakistan Zindabad !!!!

Pakistani Flag shall be kept above

Closing Note:
